Physician, medical professor, and entrepreneur Mark J. Holterman, MD, maintains an active schedule between his ventures in Chicago and Peoria, Illinois. In Chicago, he manages Mariam Global Health, a firm that promotes education and innovation, and he holds a staff appointment at Advocate Christ Children’s Hospital, where he previously fulfilled the surgeon-in-chief position. Additionally, Mark J. Holterman, MD, practices at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois, St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Since 2011, Dr. Mark Holterman has served as a professor of surgery and pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine-Peoria. He leverages more than 25 years of experience to oversee the education of medical and postdoctoral students in the Division of Pediatric Surgery. A published researcher, he has written peer-reviewed articles for Surgical Clinics of North America, Journal of Pediatric Surgery, and Obesity.

Dr. Mark Holterman is a fellow of the surgical section of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He also belongs to the Association of Academic Surgeons, the American Pediatric Surgical Association and the Pacific Association of Pediatric Surgeons.
